In the Name of Joy: An Artsy Collection with Chinese Artist TUTU
A striking artwork hangs on the wall inside the FICUS Beijing boutique, often stopping visitors in their tracks with its playful and humorous details, drawing smiles and amusement. This piece, by the Chinese contemporary artist TUTU, is part of the personal collection of Calvin, the brand's co-founder.
TUTU's paintings reconstruct a surreal society from ordinary perspectives, transforming classical figures into kings, queens, animals, and fruits. His work consistently blends dark humor, reflecting both pain and laughter. Absurd yet relatable, his art creates a comedic parallel to reality.
TUTU has participated in renowned art fairs, including Art Central (2024), Art Jakarta (2024), Art Taipei (2024), Jingart Beijing (2023), Context Art Miami (2023), Art 021 (2021-2024), and the Shenzhen Art Fair (2021-2024), among others.
Inspired by the innocence and unrestrained imagination in TUTU's creations, we collaborated to design an exclusive accessories collection. This includes a tote bag, a long scarf and a pocket square crafted from pure wool, incorporating whimsical human and animal motifs, blending fantasy with classic symbols. This festive season, we hope to share joy with everyone.
